Hi there!
One of the issues we have discussed within the topic "work" has been the Job Interview: the typical questions we can expect, the right way to address them, the right attitude of both interviewer and interviewee, etc.
Find here a video with tips on how to answer Job Interview questions properly.
What does the presenter say about the right way to approach those questions? What does he say as well about talking about strengths and weaknesses? What do you think of those tips?
You can leave your impressions on the comment box.
Enjoy!
Hello! The presenter say about the questions in a job interview. He say that them are sometimes misleading, for example, "tell me about yourself" (it means as you act in your job environment and not in your free time outside of work). But I don't agree with him because I think that interviewer ask you that question is you talk to yourself.
ReplyDeleteAlso he speaks about strenghs and weaknesses. He says that you have to apply to the workforce to the workplace. I agree with him because you have to speak strenghs and weaknesses for you to be chosen in the workplace and draw your attention him.
In conclusión, you always have to listen to the person in front of you.
Thanks for your comment, Pilar!
DeleteRemember not to forget using the -s ending of verbs in Third person singular! (he says...).
At the end of the first paragraph you said that you did not agree because if the interviewer asks you that question is for you to talk about yourself in any aspect, not only in those related to the job you're applying. I think differently, of course, but everyone's entitled to their opinion. Anyway, just pay attention to how I wrote that (pronouns, prepositions, etc)
In the second paragraph, it should read "I think that you have to speak ABOUT strengths and weaknesses for you to be chosen for the job and draw attention to THEM"
It is obvious that when one is in a job interview one should try to adapt his speech about his own skills, strengths and weaknesses to the job one wants to get. However,if I was an employer I would rather know the possible employee in a different and more realistic way.
ReplyDeleteThing is that interviewees usually plan their answers in advance in order to come across as the perfect workers for a specific position. Therefore as an interviewer I would not like to listen to characters performing scripts, but real people speaking their minds. So as to achieve this I would try to know indirectly what interviewees are like by asking questions such as,what do you prefer, watching or doing sport, tennis or football, living in the countryside or in the city, giving away money or goods, going out or staying in at weekends and suchlike questions.
Yeah, weird questions for a job interview, though the answers could say much about the interviewee´s personality and such questions would prevent interviewees from being acting.
Hello to everybody. I know that I arrived later about this reply but here I am. I have made lots of interviews during my life and I strongly recommend you listening extremely good to the interviewers and answer exclusively what is asking, shortly if possible, and never walk away from the job applied.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for pay attention.
Bye
